Your architecture career begins here, in Columbus
While many architecture programs bring students to Columbus to see these buildings, as a student you will have the advantage of a long-term, intimate association with a high concentration of outstanding examples of modern architecture.
You’ll also have access to a thriving, responsive art and design community, important community design projects, and international learning opportunities.
I had the great opportunity to work as an intern with a local Columbus Architect Louis Joyner over the summer along with my classmate Stacy Hardy. It was a great experience working on the City Hall of Columbus, a major modern building within the history of Columbus.

Student organizations
The Architecture Graduate Student Association (ArchGSA) is the official graduate student council organization of the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design’s J. Irwin Miller Architecture Program. Membership is automatically extended to all new students joining the Miller M.Arch program. ArchGSA’s purpose is to promote communication and collaboration amongst the students; advise faculty from a student perspective; advance the design of beautiful and thoughtful structures; promote social, economic, and environmental justice; and engage the Indiana University student body in these issues.
The ArchGSA meets regularly to provide opportunities and activities that improve the student experience in the J. Irwin Miller Architecture Program. As a student, you can find more information on the ArchGSA student-led Canvas site. Activities include but are not limited to: recreational gatherings, a book club, sketch night, and dance events.
