Sara Yourist is a painter whose practice analyzes the decorative nature of historical objects and how their imagery becomes distorted and deceitful once framed within a contemporary context. An avid antiques collector, Yourist searches for objects that will help her explore themes of theatricality, dark humor, and artificiality in future paintings.
